Caledonian MacBrayne run car ferries daily from Uig on the Isle of Skye, to Lochmaddy (1h 45mins), and from Mallaig/Oban to Lochboisdale (3h 30mins/5h 10mins).
From Lochmaddy, Baleshare Bothies is a 20 minute drive through the stunning scenery of North Uist and over the causeway to Baleshare.
From Lochboisdale, Baleshare Bothies is a 60 minute drive through South Uist, Benbecula and the south end of North Uist and over the causeway to Baleshare.
There are inter island ferries between Harris (Leverburgh) and North Uist (Berneray), aswell as Barra (Aird Mhor) and Eriskay.
Please be aware that the Mallaig ferry service is prone to disruption in adverse weather conditions therefor we advise opting for the Uig to Lochmaddy crossing where possible.
By Air
Loganair run flights from Glasgow, Inverness and Stornoway to Benbecula Airport.
From Benbecula Airport, Baleshare Bothies is a 25 minute drive through the stunning scenery of North Uist and over the causeway to Baleshare.
